About Us

Our Story

PLUG IN is not only a platform to showcase some of the amazingly talented women & non-binaries in our creative industry but to connect them too. At every event the aim is to create a friendly space where people can perform, network or simply enjoy the talent and company!

PLUG IN was co-founded by actresses Grace Lewis and Olivia D'Lima in June 2018 on a mission to unite women and non-binaries across our industry and create environments with an abundance of opportunities for collaboration. As performers we had experienced how hard it was to find a platform where could practice our work, try out new writing, or even invite industry guests to make some stepping stone connections to further our careers. Out of two parts excitement and one part frustration, we said "Screw it. Let's create one..." and here PLUG IN is now 14 months later!

PLUG IN has seen an amazing range of variety over the past 14 months. We have had the pleasure of showcasing spoken word artists, actors and stand up comediennes alongside welcoming directors and other industry professionals for Q & A sessions and post performance discussions. Overtime, we realised that our performers, audiences and even ourselves were craving full-on comedy and, to celebrate PLUG IN’s One Year Anniversary,  we created ‘Women Aren’t Funny’. We welcomed stand-up sets and comedic monologues to the stage and the feedback was beyond what we could have imagined!

Meet the gals who bring you PLUG IN

Olivia D'Lima

Co-founder

Olivia D’Lima is a London-born actress and writer.  Since April of 2018, Olivia has worked on award-winning short films, written and starred in an original play, documented her travels around India and Asia, as well as co-founding PLUG IN.

This year she landed a role as a TV regular and is currently shooting her first few episodes which will be airing early next year. Olivia finds it incredibly important to not only create work for herself but the people around her, particularly women and non-binaries. After performing an original piece at one of the PLUG IN events, Olivia found her love of writing. The positive feedback from her monologue spurred her on to writing about issues she has personally faced such as growing up as a mixed-race girl, living as an unemployed actress in London as well as a short film exploring the realities of relationships in the 21st Century.

She is currently in pre-production on this project and will be starring in and co-producing it alongside a small crew with the aim to have it in post by Spring 2020.

Grace Lewis

Co-founder

Grace is an actress and producer. Since graduating from drama school in 2014, Grace has enjoyed performing in numerous plays, musicals and short films around London. She started her own production company in 2018, Blue Butterfly Productions, and has since produced three plays and two short films alongside creating PLUG IN with Olivia D'Lima. Grace is massively passionate about creating more roles and opportunities for women and non-binaires and couldn't be more thrilled to doing this with PLUG IN.
